Android users, you can no longer book Uber in Google Maps

NEW DELHI: Last year, Google introduced a feature in its navigation app -- Google Maps -- using which the users were able to book a ride with Uber with ease. The feature enabled users to book an Uber directly from Google Maps without opening the Uber app. Apart from booking a ride the feature also allowed users to check when the driver is en route to the pickup location, contact the driver and monitor trip status from Google Maps itself.

However, for some reason Google has removed this functionality from Google Maps app. The company has not yet revealed the reason behind this decision
